Is my problem with my cell phone or its battery?
Hello all.
This problem literally started overnight. One day, everything was fine. The next, I had this problem.
I charge my phone all the way and then I turn it on. If I don't use it, or if I only use it for something lightweight (like texting) I don't really see the issue. But if I try to talk, browse the web, or use the camera, the phone battery will appear to drain in a matter of minutes. Once it has shut itself off, I can turn it back on and repeat.
I went two days without recharging it, and it appears that the battery is holding just as much power as it did before, but for some reason the phone or the battery THINKS its dieing quickly.
Do you think replacing the battery would help, or is the problem with the phone?
I have a very basic phone (Sanyo SCP-3100). This is the second of these phones that I've had. The first one lasted over two years. I've had this one so far for about eight months.
I think it might be the battery. I had a similar problem with my Tmobile Dash a while back and after researching it, I found out that there are defective batteries out there for the Dash. I purchased a new one and the battery has been working fine ever since.
If you buy it off of Ebay or Amazon, I'm sure you can get it really cheap. I got mine for like $8 whereas if I had gone to the store and bought it, I would have had to pay close to $30.
Why would a new cell phone turn off by itself?
Recently I bought a new Sanyo SCP 2700 and on occasion it will turn off by itself. Usually when I'm in the middle of typing a text message. The battery is almost always fully charged and it's never been exposed to extreme weather or temperature conditions and has never gotten damp or wet. What could be the possible cause behind this?
Half to full bars the majority of the time.
