What AT&T cell phone should I get?
I'm getting my own cellphone soon. I'm paying for it out of my own pocket. What cell phone do you recommend and why? I like touchscreens, PDA-like features and sleek design. I already own an iPod touch. Thanks.
I know of a cell phone (I have it) that is a slide up. It's not a touch screen, but it is small. They come in different colors - pink, dark green, red, white, and black, i think. They may have more colors. Texting costs 20 cents per message, and you are charged for incoming messages too. I don't know if you are charged with 20 cents if you don't actually read the message. I had one of those in red-it's mainly red with silver. It's from AT&T, and it's called a Walkman. Hope you get it!
Bluetooth PDA, cell phone, headset connection.?
I have a Pocket PC PDA, a headset, and a Moto Razr. I know my Razr can only except one BT connection at a time so I was wondering how I could connect my headset and phone to the PDA, use the PDA to dial, and my headset to talk. Can it be done, and is there any software I need to get?
I know I can connect my headset and phone to my PDA, I just want to know if there is software that will dial my phone, then mediate between my phone and headset when a connection is made.
there is no additional software needed. It's all integrated in your devices (cell, PocketPC, headset) - hence the BLUETOOTH stack/protocol.
Question now remains what Bluetooth versions your devices support. It can range from version v1.1 to v1.2, v1.4, v1.7 and v2.0 , which is currently brand-new.
Generally a bluetooth device is supposedly capable to form an ad-hoc "personal area network" of up to 7 devices - which is called PICONET.
Unfortunately most cellphone/device manufacturers cut that down to pair with one device connectivity only.
I'm in the same boat you are, and use my pocketpc to be ALWAYS ON to the internet through my cellphone, and utilizing a bluetooth headset.
I'm in hte lucky position to say, that my cellphone - a SAMSUNG SYNC (SGH-A707 model) is capable of sustaining a connection to BOTH - headset and my pocketPC - at the same time. My SYNC cellphone has bluetooth v2.0, my pocketPC has v1.7 and my headset has v1.2
But if my wife wants to go online with her pocketPC through my cell's bluetooth, then i've to disconnect my pocketPC's bluetooth link.
The catch-22 is/was, that nowhere you'll find a reference about it, so you've to try-n-die before you buy it. And normally the average sales rep in the cell-store wont know it either.
So, bottomline, it depends on your cellphones Bluetooth stack/version - if it HAS v2.0 - chances are it can do both at the same time, if not, time to changes the cellphone, as the manufacturer short-changed you on the bluetooth capabilities!
