Which Cell Phone Should I Buy?

About 10 years ago, buying a cell phone was pretty much simple than it is nowadays. a decade ago, mobile phones were basically just phones, unlike the modern mobile phones which are more similar to a computer and provide users with various features such as:
Hi-speed internet connection
Internet browser
Email capabilities
Voice mail
Calendar
Wide screen
Speaker
Digital camera
Video recording
Audio recording
Bluetooth technology
SMS (Text messaging)

Cell phones are becoming more like PDA's and computers rather than just the basic cell phones they used to be. This is why shopping for a cell phone has become somewhat like shopping for a computer. Some modern cell phones feature quite impressive multimedia capabilites.

Some people find all of the features and capabilities of the modern cell phones to be an excellent development while other people simply prefer a cell phone with basic features and without too many extra options. This is usually the case with older people who prefer a basic phone, unlike the younger people who are more gadget and hi-tech friendly.

Many of the multimedia capabilities modern cell phones feature such as playing and recording streaming video, taking photographs and recording sounds; are accompanied with the capability to connect to a computer and transfer data to and from the computer. This is a very convenient and useful feature that to save and backup files from the cell phone.
Choosing the cell phone with the features that are important to your needs might not be easy. Yet, it is very important to keep in mind that features that seems to be unnecessary for you today, may be found to be quite useful in the future.

Is turning loud speaker to use cell phone when driving not allowed ?( California )?

I was using cell phone with loud speaker turning on when I was behind the wheel , then an officer issued me a ticket. I told him I did use the speaker but he said it was not allowed , and all phones must be hand free by using head set or bluetooth. As a truck driver , my company warned me not to use cell phone but provided me a Nextel ( use as walki- talki ) to communicate with dispatch when I drive. I have also seen many people using the speaker phone when they are driving . So , anybody knows about that law ( California ) ? was I wrong or the cop ?
