Unlocked Cell Phone?
Ok currently I have a cell phone under the network TELUS which is an HTC Touch and has SIM card.
I want to buy an unlocked phone off ebay for really cheap, do all I have to do is switch the SIM card and the new phone will work or how does all this work?
As long as you are sure to get one that is either totally unlocked, or one that is locked to your network, all you have to do is take the sim card out of the phone you have got now and put it in the new phone. You shouldn't have any problems. If the unlocked phone was originally locked to a different network than you want to use it for, you will more than likely need to request the MMS/GPRS settings either from yournetwork providers website, or phone your network provider and request. Do this after you have got the phone and put the sim card into it though.
I have a GSM unlocked phone, how do I get it to work so that I get internet for multimedia text messaging?
So I recently purchased an Unlocked GSM touch screen cell phone off of ebay. It works fine with my network, AT&T (cingular), the only thing is that it doesn't work with the internet. Meaning I can't access the internet. Which wouldn't bother me, but I can't send multimedia messages. I know that with my contract I get internet because when I put it in one of my older phones the internet works. So is there a way I can get internet on this phone?
Maybe the internet settings need to be set up manually. Call customer service. Advise them it doesnt work, dont mention its unlocked phone, and that you want to set up the net settings.
